APPROACH
Krauss Architecture feels that timeless architecture is the result of process and unexplainable inspiration.
Understanding all the circumstances of a project, from the client’s aspirations, to the program, place, codes and ordinances, is fundamental. Krauss Architecture performs this investigation by methodically and thoroughly interviewing its clients, their staff, city agencies and officials. Krauss Architecture investigates every aspect of the land as related to the program and then fully reviews all the external influences that may have an impact on the design. Finally, Krauss Architecture tries to test all of this information against the budget to assure that they are on solid ground before design.
DESIGN
Only when the investigation is fully complete and reviewed, does Krauss architecture begin the design. The conceptual design component of the process, however, is very difficult to state objectively. Krauss Architecture attempts to create designs that choreograph one’s experience in such a way that the most beautiful aspects of a program, place and the materials employed can be revealed.
THE CLIENT
After generating the concept, Krauss Architecture works closely with its clients, literally presenting every design sketch to them so they can be intimately involved in tracking and guiding Krauss Architectures progress to a final resolution. Krauss Architecture involves all its team members continuously in the design process, drawing on their expertise and experience.
